Eden Day Care is a pre-primary school that has been running for the last 2 years. Transformation Mariannridge took Eden Day Care under it's wing, not only help this business grow but see young lives transformed in the community.
A personal testimony from Dailene Dickon, the owner of Little Eden Day Care:
“This is just a brief testimony of the goodness of God and how he has used Transformation Mariannridge to be a source of blessing in my life and in my business. In March 2008, God gave me a vision of opening a crèche to service the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital, where I am currently employed.
After much prayer and consideration, I began to run with the idea of starting the crèche. This coincided with the Transformation Mariannridge business forum that was started in Mariannridge and I contacted Pastor Jake to ask if I could participate in their small business development program. I met with Pastor Jake and Liz and shared a common vision for the Safe House and so began a fruitful relationship with Transformation Mariannridge. They assisted me with a business loan, which enabled me to get started with Little Eden Care Center. The crèche was opened in August 2008, starting with 3 kids.
From August to December 2008, the crèche battled along with 4 kids and 2 staff members. It was really tough financially because I had to dig into my own pocket to keep the dream alive. In December 2009, my car was repossessed and we were in a bad financial state. I began to question God. I knew he had given me this idea, so why was it not working out? God, being a miraculous God that He is, came through for me. In January I received a donation of items, which I managed to sell and that covered my expenses for January. In February and March I had similar experiences, but from different sources.
I recognized the hand of God in meeting my needs. The crèche began to grow and the end of April I had 12 kids. About the same time, I approached Pastor Jake and Liz again about sharing the property and getting started with the Safe house. They also needed new premises and so together with Liz we went about getting that project going. Transformation Mariannridge purchased a Wendy house and moved into the same property with Eden Day Care. Then the real transformation began to take place. Pastor Jake and Liz put extensive effort into upgrading the facility and this has helped tremendously. People are driving by and noticing the improvements done.
They have even started a vegetable garden and it has also generated a lot of interest. The owners of the property have also had to step up their game in maintaining the grounds surrounding the property to keep up with the appearance.
I am eternally grateful to Transformation Mariannridge for their input and invaluable assistance in helping to build up my business. I am looking forward to a lasting relationship with Pastor Jake, Liz and Emily and all the other members and donors.
Thank you and may God continue to bless you all!”
