MALE MEMBER OF THE COMMUNITY IN HIS LATE THIRTIES

Mariannridge has been in existence for 33 years and I have been one of the pioneer inhabitants of it. Mariannridge is one of the most impoverished ex-coloured communities.

I joined His Church (which is associated with Transformation Mariannridge) 18 months ago, after moving back to Mariannridge, having been absent for 11 years. What touched me was when Transformation Mariannridge performed a makeover at the secondary school after having made over the primary school as well as some peoples homes. Never before, in the 33 years of existence had Mariannridge experienced such a thing. There are greater plans in progress.

The aim of Transformation Mariannridge is to transform the community socially, economically and morally.

They have impacted my life with a sponsorship to attend Bible College as well as temporary work.

I would like to thank Transformation Mariannridge for all the activities such as Royal Rangers etc. Also the golden opportunity to learn French, piano, guitar, art and drums, as my parents get a disability grant and could never afford to pay for these activities.

I would like to thank Transformation Mariannridge for my job. It is a place where I can destress. It has taught me through friends that you can speak your heart out to any of the ladies and it is confidential. It has taught me how to pray and how to trust others. What I really love about Transformation Mariannridge is that there is unity. A great thanks to Transformation Mariannridge.

Firstly I want to say that Transformation Mariannridge has transformed many lives especially mine. I was a person that went to church once a month, but when Transformation Mariannridge started, I started going to prayer meetings at the primary school. Later we held these at Dianne’s home. This was in 2007

About a couple of months’ later we moved to our new premises. That’s when the fun began with Transformation Mariannridge.

In 2007 my dream was granted by God when I started running the computer classes with Dino. Our computer class was a success, there was no fee involved and it attracted many people from the community.

In 2008 I was blessed with a computer of my own. I now make CV’s etc. Jake had me on my toes with assignments coming out of my ears, but I really enjoyed it. At the end of the day it was an income for me because at the moment I am unemployed.

The good thing about Transformation Mariannridge is that it also keeps youngsters out of trouble as we have many activities for the kids. We have a soup kitchen, which is awesome.

I would like to thank T/M, and especially Jake for he is a good man of God. He is loving and cares about everybody’s needs. He is always there when you need him and is the best person to confide in.

All I want to say is: “Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!”
